            Softball Preview: Leo Lions vs. Munster Mustangs        
        
		
        
        
            The Leo Lions will challenge the Munster Mustangs at 9:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Leo proved they can win big  on Wednesday (they won by 11) and  on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a  run and slipped past Fort Wayne Northrop  3-2. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Bruins recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive  victory against them.
 Luci Schott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on four hits.

 At the plate,  Sara Hoeppner was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with two  doubles and one  RBI. Those  two  doubles gave  her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Munster had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past the Eagles  3-1. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by  exactly two  runs.
Columbia City's batters probably weren't too happy with  Ally Compton, who pitched a no hitter  and racked up nine Ks (she gave up three walks). Compton has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Munster saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kaylee O'Connell, who  went 2-for-4 with one  run.
 Leo pushed their record up to 7-1 with the  victory, which was their 12th straight  at home dating back to last season. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Munster, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
