Sotomayor had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Brennan Bears. For the WILDCATS, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 victory the Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.
The team relied heavily on Ethan Canche, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Evan Fine, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Coming up, Sotomayor will be taking part in a tournament against Boerne-Champion at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brennan, they will take on Edison in a tournament on Thursday.
