Softball Recap: Hamilton Southeastern Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Hamilton Southeastern took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Brownsburg, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Royals' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 1-0 shutout on Friday. The game was the first time the Royals have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since May 19, 2015.

The result came thanks to Grace Swedarsky's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Hamilton Southeastern's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Feher, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

Hamilton Southeastern has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Brownsburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8.
