The matchup between Lubbock and Monterey on Friday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Lubbock Westerners came up short against the Monterey Plainsmen, falling 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Westerners as the team haven't won a game since January 7th.

Lubbock's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Monterey, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Coming up, Lubbock will challenge Tascosa at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Monterey, they will face off against Caprock at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Monterey knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Caprock likes a good challenge.
