St. Anne fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Momence on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Momence Athletics by a score of 14-13. On the bright side, the 13- run effort marked the Cardinals' highest-scoring game to date.

Jesus Chaca-Tapis was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That run marked the first that he has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Schoth, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

St. Anne is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Momence, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.

Looking ahead, St. Anne will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Milford at 4:30 p.m. As for Momence, they will head out on the road to square off against Reed-Custer at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
