Quitman fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Bigelow on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Quitman's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-4. As for Bigelow, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Looking ahead, Quitman will face off against Cabot at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bigelow, they will challenge Morrilton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
