Basketball Recap: San Benito Greyhounds vs. Los Fresnos Falcons

The San Benito Greyhounds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They fell 56-44 to Los Fresnos. The contest was a 22-22 toss-up at halftime, but San Benito couldn't quite close it out.

Los Fresnos got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jj Salazar out in front who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Andrew Munoz was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.

San Benito's loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Los Fresnos, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 26-7.

San Benito will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Los Fresnos, they will be playing at home against the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harlingen and the Falcons are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
