Softball Recap: Broadneck's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

It was a good run, but Broadneck unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 7-2 to the Northeast Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bruins of the 5-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Rylan Crisafulli spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Broadneck saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Favazza, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another was Faith Palmer, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Broadneck's loss dropped their record down to 5-2-1. As for Northeast, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
