Recap: Harris County Tigers vs. Spencer Greenwave

The Harris County Tigers pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 65-58 loss to Spencer. While losing is never fun, Harris County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 468th, while Spencer is ranked 127th).

When it comes to explaining why Harris County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cameron Phillips. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. Phillips scored a full 31% of Harris County's points, the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Alexander, who scored ten points.

Key?shaun Sampton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Spencer, scoring 27 points along with four steals. The matchup was Sampton's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mor-Le'Draeyon Duncan, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
