Basketball Recap: Lyman Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Lyman won the last time they faced Crooms Academy, and Joseph Lewis III did his part to make sure it happened again. The Lyman Greyhounds walked away with a 72-63 win over the Crooms Academy Panthers on Tuesday thanks in part to Lewis III, who went 5 of 12 en route to 16 points in addition to eight boards and seven assists. Those seven assists gave him a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Crooms Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kenai Anderson went 9 for 12 on his way to 26 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. With that strong performance, Anderson is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Julian Gill was another key player, putting up 22 points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Lyman's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11. As for Crooms Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7.

Lyman has already played their next game, a 75-17 defeat against Oviedo on the 15th. As for Crooms Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 78-70 win against Orangewood Christian on the 16th.
