Volleyball Recap: Sylvan-Lucas Extends Winning Streak to Three

Sylvan-Lucas entered their tilt with Lakeside on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Knights by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Sylvan-Lucas took both sets by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-14.

Harlee Nelson paced Sylvan-Lucas' offense, picking up five kills. Nelson got some help from Lily Pancost and her seven assists. Pancost was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Sylvan-Lucas' victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Lakeside, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Sylvan-Lucas has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against St. John's/Tipton Catholic on the 27th. As for Lakeside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Logan/Palco on the 27th.
