Mission Hills couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 28-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Granite Hills Eagles on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Grizzlies of the 27-17 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2023.
Max Turner went supernova for Granite Hills, rushing for 203 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Granite Hills also got help from Brenden Lewis, who showed off his sure hands for 98 receiving yards.
Mission Hills will take on Westview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Granite Hills, they will face off against Mater Dei Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
