Basketball Game Preview: IMG Academy Ascenders vs. Montverde Academy Eagles

The IMG Academy Ascenders will face off against the Montverde Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Montverde Academy will be up against a hot IMG Academy squad: the team just extended their winning streak to eight. Everything went IMG Academy's way against Academy of Central Florida two weeks ago as IMG Academy made off with a 62-41 win.

Meanwhile, Montverde Academy waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with 14 straight wins... but they left with 15. They claimed a resounding 77-30 victory over the CPCA.

IMG Academy better focus on containing Saniyah Hall and Aaliyah Crump as the pair were huge in Montverde Academy's win. Hall posted 22 points in addition to five boards and three steals, while Crump earned 20 points and six rebounds. The contest was Crump's third in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaia Jackson, who had seven points and seven assists.

Montverde Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Montverde Academy pushed their record up to 22-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.3 points. As for IMG Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.
