Preview: Lakeside Panthers vs. Tucker Tigers
The Lakeside Panthers will take on the Tucker Tigers in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at. Hopefully Lakeside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought match, but Lakeside had to settle for a 51-49 loss against North Augusta. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lakeside has scored all season.
Lakeside's defeat came about despite a quality game from Justin Barnes, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. The match was Barnes' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakylan Hill, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Lakeside were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Tucker didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Cedar Grove on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 52-46 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Tucker.
Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Tucker, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
