Westerly faced Ponaganset in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Chieftains with a sharp 18-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Addison Poole was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Keegan, who went 3-for-4 with four runs and two RBI.

Westerly always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Westerly's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-10. As for Ponaganset, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-15.

As of now, neither Westerly nor the Chieftains have any future games scheduled.
