Baseball Game Preview: Christian Brothers Falcons vs. River City Raiders

The Christian Brothers Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the River City Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian Brothers will be strutting in after a victory while River City will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, Christian Brothers had just enough and edged out Rio Americano 5-4.

The team relied heavily on Henry Ramsey, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Pelka, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, River City suffered their biggest loss since March 25th on Friday. They lost 10-0 to Bradshaw Christian. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

River City saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Carrington, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Christian Brothers is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for River City, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-10.

Christian Brothers couldn't quite get it done against River City when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
