Softball Recap: Burlingame's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Burlingame's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They skirted past the Hillsdale Fighting Knights 1-0. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 7-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Aditi Bafna looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Burlingame's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Madeline Koo, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Koo has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Olivia Evangelista also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Burlingame's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Hillsdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-1.

Burlingame will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Capuchino at 4:00 p.m. on April 10. As for Hillsdale, they will take on Willow Glen in a tournament on Saturday. Willow Glen will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Hillsdale surely won't give up without a fight.
