Basketball Recap: Western Guilford Hornets vs. Ragsdale Tigers
Western Guilford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 71-43 defeat at the hands of the Ragsdale Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 345th, while the Tigers are ranked 161st).

Despite the loss, Western Guilford still got an impressive performance from Leila Henderson, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 11 boards. That's the most points Henderson has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Reese Miga, who posted eight points and six rebounds.
Leading Ragsdale to victory were Aaliya Boddie and Brooke Parker. Boddie went 8 for 14 en route to 24 points, while Parker went 5 of 12 on her way to 17 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. Parker has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Ja'Mya Boddie was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight assists.
Western Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Ragsdale, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.
Western Guilford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 68-39 defeat against Northwest Guilford on the 24th. Ragsdale has also already played their next game, a 44-42 loss against Northern Guilford on the 24th.
