Basketball Game Preview: Worthing Colts vs. Furr Brahmans

Worthing hasn't had much luck against Furr recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Worthing Colts will face off against the Furr Brahmans at 6:00 p.m. Worthing knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 22 matches -- so hopefully Furr likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Worthing made easy work of Kashmere and carried off a 73-52 victory. The Colts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Worthing had a senior duo take command as Courtland Sloan dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds and KJ Roy posted 20 points and seven boards. Sloan's evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenneth Simpson, who put up ten points.

Meanwhile, Furr ended up a good deal behind Washington on Wednesday and lost 71-54. The Brahmans have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Worthing has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Furr, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Everything came up roses for Worthing against Furr in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-25 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Worthing since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
