Softball Recap: Thorsby's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Thorsby unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Childersburg Tigers by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rebels have suffered since February 29, 2024.

Brooklyn Reeser put in work no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Reeser was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Reeser wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brinley Giambrone, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Thorsby's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2-1. As for Childersburg, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-13.

Coincidentally, Thorsby and Childersburg will both be playing Comer the next time they take the field. The Rebels will host the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
