Basketball Recap: Surry Central Now 10-1 over Last 11 Games

Surry Central had won four straight road games and Tripp Mcmillen did his part to make it five on Friday. The Surry Central Golden Eagles managed a 63-58 win over the West Wilkes Blackhawks thanks in part to Mcmillen, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game.

Another player making a difference was Eli Snow, who posted three points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four).

Surry Central is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for West Wilkes, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Surry Central Golden Eagles take on the Wilkes Central Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Surry Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully Wilkes Central likes a good challenge. As for West Wilkes, they will face off against Forbush at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Wilkes is facing Forbush at the right time seeing as Forbush is stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
