Baseball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.93 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They came up short against the Huntley Red Raiders, falling 11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rockets have suffered against the Red Raiders since April 20, 2022.

Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Powrozek, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Central has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season. As for Huntley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season.

Huntley will square off against Libertyville at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. Central will be paying especially close attention to Huntley's contest: after Huntley faces off against Libertyville, they'll take on Central again at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
