League recap: Chandler tops Basha to extend winning streak

Chandler added to the longest winning streak in I Section I this week by beating Basha, 49-21. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.

Chandler took down the Bears 49-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Bryce Perkins threw for 203 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 143 yards during the win.

Shawn Aguano's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Perkins contributed 143 yards. Mitch McCulley helped Chandler's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 51 yards.

The Wolves' dynamic duo of Perkins and Dionte Sykes proved to be unstoppable against Basha, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. McCulley helped Chandler's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 51 yards.

Basha's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Bears feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Zach Werlinger has thrown for 3,242 yards and 25 touchdowns this season, while Doc O'Connor has 61 catches for 1,127 yards.

The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Chandler and Hamilton. The Wolves enters the contest ranked third in the state, while the Huskies ranks fifth.

Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Chandler takes on Hamilton. The Wolves' offense has racked up 507 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Steve Belles' team has allowed only 180 on the year.

Chandler led I Section I in scoring this week by notching 49 points on Bernie Busken's team. Perkins in the win.
