Basketball Recap: Chalmette Gets the Win

Chalmette picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They snuck past the Pope John Paul II Jaguars with a 45-40 victory. The team accrued 34 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Max Smith, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Taytem Miller, who earned seven points.

The victory made it two in a row for Chalmette and bumps their season record up to 13-11. As for Pope John Paul II, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

Chalmette will venture away from home to face off against Slidell at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Owls their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Pope John Paul II, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Sumner at 6:30 p.m.
