Recap: St. James Academy Thunder vs. St. Pius X Lancers
The St. Pius X Lancers typically have all the answers at home, but on Monday the St. James Academy Thunder proved too difficult a challenge. They secured a 47-43 W over the Lancers. Given St. James Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 19th in Kansas, while St. Pius X is ranked 137th in Missouri), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Riley Kerwin had an outrageously good game as she scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Becker, who scored ten points along with two steals.
St. James Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for St. Pius X, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6.
