Basketball Recap: Moriarty Find Success

Moriarty proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 20) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Capitan Tigers 39-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pintos have posted since December 2, 2023.

Moriarty found their leader in freshman Kylie McDonough, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. McDonough is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jackie Rivas, who posted six points and 11 rebounds.

Moriarty's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Capitan, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Moriarty didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-21 win against Legacy Academy on the 11th. As for Capitan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 48-37 defeat against Estancia on the 11th.
