Baseball Recap: Cherry Creek Has No Trouble Against Regis Jesuit

With a playoff win on the line, Cherry Creek rose to the challenge on Saturday. They blew past the Regis Jesuit Raiders 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Cherry Creek got a great performance from Wyatt Rudden as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Rudden has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lucas Schultz was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Ari Rothman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.

Cherry Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in three consecutive games.

Cherry Creek's record is now 23-5-1. As for Regis Jesuit, their loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-9.

Cherry Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raiders: the pair will be back at it again later today.
