North Johnston proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 40) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Holmes Aces 35-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since September 30, 2024.

Charlie Barnes had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 159 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. What's more, he racked up 36.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.

North Johnston's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Holmes, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Johnston will challenge Rosewood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holmes, they will square off against Northeastern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
