Softball Recap: New Life Academy Eagles vs. St. Croix Prep Lions        
        
		
            
 New Life Academy had to endure  a  three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past the St. Croix Prep Lions  8-7. That result was just more of the same for these two, as New Life Academy also won the last time the pair played  back in April.
  Ashlyn Croon made a splash no matter where she played. She  pitched seven innings while giving up  four earned  (and three unearned) runs off   five  hits. Croon has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in five consecutive pitching appearances. Croon was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, a  triple,  and  an  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Sadie Button was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Claira Sanders, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases.
 New Life Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for St. Croix Prep, they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 4-11.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Life Academy will be staying on the road  on Monday to face off against Concordia Academy at 4:30  p.m. As for St. Croix Prep, they will  challenge Cristo Rey Jesuit at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
