Softball Recap: Cathedral Beats Evansville Memorial for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cathedral walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Evansville Memorial Tigers 4-2. Four seems to be a good number for the Fighting Irish as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Sidney Feczko spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Anna Moore, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Amya Gary, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

The win was the fifth in a row for Cathedral, bringing their record up to 28-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Evansville Memorial, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-8.

As of now, neither Cathedral nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
