Volleyball Game Preview: Essex Tech Hawks vs. Andover Golden Warriors

After both having extra time off, the Essex Tech Hawks and the Andover Golden Warriors will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Essex Tech is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Arlington just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 3-0 to the Spy Ponders.

While Essex Tech was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Arlington's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-17, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Andover came up short against Methuen on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Golden Warriors were not able to get on the board.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 25-19, 28-26, 27-25.

Essex Tech will have to contain Caleb Won as he made an impact in Andover's last game. He had 14 digs and three assists.

Andover's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Essex Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
