Softball Recap: Sierra Canyon Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Sierra Canyon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past the Louisville Royals 17-0 on Wednesday. The Trailblazers have beaten the Royals the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Royals has come to flipping the script.

Nina Peyton-Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nylah Melendez, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Sierra Canyon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Louisville only posted an OBP of .350.

Sierra Canyon now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Louisville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Sierra Canyon didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 26-0 win against Golden Valley on the 21st. As for Louisville, they are taking a road trip to square off against Oak Park at 3:30 p.m. on the 25th.
