Preview: Istrouma Indians vs. Broadmoor Buccaneers
Istrouma is 7-0 against Broadmoor since November of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Istrouma Indians will look to defend their home court against the Broadmoor Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Istrouma focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
Istrouma put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 41-7 victory over Belaire. With Istrouma ahead 28-4 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Istrouma can attribute much of their success to Krystin Franklin, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals, and Eryn Brown, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it 21 consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Istrouma's points.
Meanwhile, Broadmoor's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 16th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Tara, falling 41-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Broadmoor has suffered since December 18, 2023.
Istrouma has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Broadmoor, they bumped their record down to 1-17 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight at home.
Istrouma took their victory against Broadmoor in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 36-13. Will Istrouma repeat their success, or does Broadmoor have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
