Baseball Recap: Skyline Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Skyline can now relate to. They fell just short of the Bishop Kelly Knights by a score of 9-7 on Friday. The Grizzlies were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in March of 2021.

Truman Sermon made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Taylor, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Skyline and nudges their season record down to 12-14. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Bishop Kelly, they pushed their record up to 19-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Skyline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop Kelly, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 11-9 victory against Twin Falls on the 8th.
