Football Recap: Wellington Takes a Loss

Wellington fell victim to Keystone and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. The Dukes have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Gaven Wacker threw for 158 yards on 18 of 33 attempts. Connor Kinser was his top target, picking up 74 receiving yards.

Wyatt McKee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Keystone, rushing for 164 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Those four rushing touchdowns gave McKee a new career-high.

Wellington now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Keystone, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Wellington wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 44-7 defeat against Firelands on the 10th. As for Keystone, they have also already played their next game, a 21-7 loss against Columbia on the 10th.
