Basketball Recap: Berwick Skates Past Patterson with Ease

Berwick came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 52-19 win over the Patterson Lumberjacks. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Azyria Garrison was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Shelby Taylor was another key player, putting up five points in addition to seven boards and six steals.

Berwick smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in eight consecutive matches.

Berwick is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.1 points per game. As for Patterson, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berwick has already played their next contest (against Ascension Episcopal), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Patterson has also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against E.D. White.
