Football Recap: Albertus Magnus Piles Up the Points Against Poughkeepsie

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Albertus Magnus on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Poughkeepsie Pioneers out of the water with a 40-7 final score. The Falcons pushed the score to 32-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pioneers had little chance of recovering from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Albertus Magnus to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan Senatus, who rushed for 59 yards and one score on only six carries. Derek Sullivan was in the mix too, providing the Falcons with two touchdowns.

Another reason for the win was Albertus Magnus' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Chrisman Adrien was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Albertus Magnus has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.8 points over those games. As for Poughkeepsie, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Albertus Magnus will host Croton-Harmon at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Poughkeepsie, they will challenge Peekskill at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Red Devils' defense has only allowed 9.8 points per game this season, so the Pioneers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
