Softball Game Preview: Buckeye Trail Warriors vs. Cambridge Bobcats

Buckeye Trail hasn't had much luck against Cambridge recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Bobcats at 11:00 a.m. Buckeye Trail has given up an average of 8.9 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Buckeye Trail is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They came up short against Conotton Valley, falling 12-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Cambridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 20-6 to Martins Ferry.

Miranda Cole was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Those stolen bases marked the first that she snagged this season. Bailey Kenworthy was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

Buckeye Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Cambridge, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Buckeye Trail might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Cambridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
