Softball Recap: Brewer Find Success

Brewer's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Danville Hawks 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won eight in a row.

Taylor Pellem was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Brewer hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 6-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Brewer's victory bumped their record up to 8-4-1. As for Danville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

Coming up, Brewer will be taking part in a tournament against Fairview at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Brewer's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Fairview's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Danville, they will challenge Grissom at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Danville has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
