Baseball Recap: Skyline's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Skyline came into Tuesday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Highland Rams 12-2 on Tuesday. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Mason PapaDakis spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits. He has become a key player for Skyline: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 5-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Skyline got a massive performance out of Carson Atkinson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave Atkinson a new career-high in hits (two). Charlie Billick was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Skyline kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Skyline's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Highland, their loss was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-15.

Skyline will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rams: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
