Georgia Christian's loss ends four-game winning streak on the road

Recap: Georgia Christian Generals vs. Atkinson County Rebels

After flying high against the Valwood Valiants last Thursday, the Georgia Christian Generals came back down to earth. Georgia Christian suffered a rough 70-45 defeat at the hands of Atkinson County on Monday. If Georgia Christian hoped to take revenge for the 59-35 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.

Atkinson County was led to victory by Ja'Kari Northcutt and Kamari Moore. Northcutt scored 23 points, while Moore scored 26 points. Northcutt is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last six games she's played.

Georgia Christian's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5. As for Atkinson County, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Georgia Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Citizens Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Citizens Christian Academy is ranked 281st, while Georgia Christian is ranked 263rd). As for Atkinson County, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Echols County at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
