Softball Game Preview: Green Hill Hawks vs. Coffee County Central Red Raiders

The Green Hill Hawks will face off against the Coffee County Central Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Green Hill's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against Tipton-Rosemark Academy by a score of 5-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Coffee County Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Shelbyville Central on Tuesday. The Red Raiders not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 19th.

Not much got past Haleigh Skipper, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Shelbyville Central off the board.

At the plate, Coffee County Central got a massive performance out of Jalyn Moran, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Moran has posted since back in March. Paisley Campbell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Coffee County Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shelbyville Central struck out ten times.

Coffee County Central's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Green Hill, their win bumped their record up to 15-0-2.

Green Hill beat Coffee County Central 3-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Red Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
