Basketball Game Preview: Spring Hill Bears vs. Fordyce Redbugs

The Spring Hill Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Fordyce Redbugs at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Spring Hill's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.

Spring Hill easily dispatched Gurdon on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Spring Hill fell just short of Lafayette County by a score of 60-58 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bears have suffered since November 14, 2023.

Meanwhile, Fordyce waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 52-34.

Fordyce pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Spring Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Spring Hill opened the new year with a less-than-successful 79-70 loss to Fordyce. Can Spring Hill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
