Basketball Game Preview: Wingate Bears vs. Crownpoint Eagles

The Wingate Bears will square off against the Crownpoint Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Wingate is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Wingate is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Thoreau on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Wingate lost 54-33 to Thoreau.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Crownpoint challenged Thoreau on Thursday. Crownpoint was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to Thoreau. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Wingate's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Crownpoint, their loss dropped their record down to 12-14.

Wingate came up short against Crownpoint in their previous meeting on February 4th, falling 65-57. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Crownpoint's Courtney Craig, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 12 boards.
