Volleyball Game Preview: Las Lomas Knights vs. Acalanes Dons

Las Lomas hasn't had much luck against Acalanes recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Las Lomas Knights will be playing at home against the Acalanes Dons at 6:30 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Las Lomas is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since May 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Northgate, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 25-15.

Despite the defeat, Las Lomas saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tate Thompson had 20 assists. Thompson has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last 12 times he's played.

Meanwhile, Acalanes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Clayton Valley Charter.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 26-24, 26-24, 25-14.

Acalanes' defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Las Lomas, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
