Soccer Game Preview: McDonogh vs. Phelps

The McDonogh Eagles will square off against the Phelps Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

McDonogh's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed back in September. They won by a goal and slipped past Hereford 1-0.

Meanwhile, Phelps entered their contest against Mercersburg Academy on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Lions fell just short of the Storm by a score of 2-1.

McDonogh's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Phelps, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-7-2.

McDonogh beat Phelps 2-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
