Baseball Recap: Franklin Road Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Franklin Road Academy hadn't done well against Goodpasture Christian recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Panthers walked away with an 11-8 win over the Cougars. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Nicholas Potts was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Franklin Road Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Max Riggs, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Franklin Road Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

With the win, Franklin Road Academy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-13. As for Goodpasture Christian, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-9.

Coming up, Franklin Road Academy will square off against Pope John Paul II at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Goodpasture Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Ezell-Harding Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
