Volleyball Recap: Deweyville Comes Up Short

Deweyville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Hemphill Hornets. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Hornets when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Deweyville's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hemphill, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Deweyville will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Hardin-Jefferson at 10:00 a.m. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hemphill, they will venture away from home to take on Silsbee at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
