Recap: Northern Huskies vs. Shanksville Stonycreek Vikings
The Northern Huskies entered their tilt with the Shanksville Stonycreek Vikings with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Northern took down Shanksville Stonycreek 64-46 on Monday. Given Northern's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 211th in Maryland, while Shanksville Stonycreek is ranked 637th in Pennsylvania), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Braxton Newman, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Musser, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Northern has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. As for Shanksville Stonycreek, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 9-9.
Northern didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-34 defeat vs. Southern on the 9th. Shanksville Stonycreek has also already played their next matchup, a 53-44 defeat against Blacklick Valley on the 7th.
