Baseball Recap: Westhampton Beach Comes Up Short

Westhampton Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Riverhead Blue Waves. The Hurricanes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Waves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Westhampton Beach saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Constantine Reilly, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Westhampton Beach's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Riverhead, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

While Westhampton Beach had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
